Waiting for a gondola, next one is ours!
While you are in Quito, the Aerial tram or in Spanish Teleférico a must place to see! At Quito Aerial tram is my favorite place to visit. The view from there is amazing, you can see all Quito and the surrounding mountains. It’s better if you go there in the morning and choose a day when it’s not really cloudy. Remember that the weather can change quickly once you are up there because of the surrounding mountains. Bring a warm jacket with you, sometimes it’s really windy up there.
From up there you can see whole Quito.
The starting point for the ride is at 2950 meters and the cable car will take you up to 4050 meters. Easiest way to go there is by taxi. Teleférico is not really far from the centrum, about 15 minutes cab ride. Opening hours are 9 AM to 7 PM daily.

Once you get up there the best thing to do is of course to see the amazing view. There is a small cafeteria for snacks and refreshments, but it’s better if you bring your own snacks and water with you. There are also some hiking trails and if you feel ready for an adventure, you can hike to the volcano Rucu Pichincha. It’s possible to bring a mountain bike with you and return back to Quito by downhill biking.
